I feel like we should make the themed 'POOTOO'. I mean, we have enough entries to justify it. Right?

It would be hard to explain the cassowary in that case. I haven't called for a vote yet so there's still time for other people to enter. With or without a potoo theme. Hint hint.

In case anyone here doesn't know it already, there's a song that goes with the potoo versus eel picture.

Wow. Justify. That's a fancy word for you.

Sadly, I don't have Photoshop anymore, so I'm going to need to come up with some different ways to enter the contest.

It's possible to buy Photoshop Elements (the cheap version of the program) and the price is reasonable: https://www.amazon.com/Adobe-65273274-P ... B01KICI4LQ
There's also a bundle with Premiere Elements that's reasonable: https://smile.amazon.com/Adobe-Photosho ... 01KICI37Q/

Elements doesn't do absolutely everything that the subscription-only version does, but it's quite good. They say that the stuff Elements won't do are things that only professionals would need. I've got an older version of the program (Elements 8) and I'm basically happy with it. One of these years I'll upgrade to a newer version and be able to do even more.

There's some freeware out there that's supposed to be good. I tried Gimp once after I got a new computer and my old version of Photoshop Elements wouldn't run on it. But Gimp drove me nuts because it was too different from Photoshop. So I bought the newest edition of Photoshop Elements instead. That was several years ago and that's the version I'm still using.

The potoos are making a formidable showing! But they say that death by cassowary is the worst way to die, so we don't want to piss the cassowaries off by telling them they can't compete.

The "death by cassowary" report:

A video on killer cassowaries:

And a strange story about how the innocent potoo was used in a hoax about a giant prehistoric owl that gouged out its keeper's eyes:

I'd like to think that's a potato he's eating. Please don't crush my dreams and tell me it isn't.

I dunno. Looks kind of like a human skull to me.
