No problem. I hope they can at least save the remainder of the chicks. If not, just know that the first clutch isn't always successful. They could most likely have much better luck, in the next one.

I personally wouldn't take a risk of handfeeding such a tiny newborn creatures.

For some people, it's a matter of experience. I mean, I would allow nature take its course just because I don't know how to deal with very young chicks. Oh well.. maybe I would try, as I have had a bit of handfeeding experience.
The topic starter's wife shared with me that there are 3 survivors at the moment who seem to be doing good. What is an average clutch size for them?

Zebra finches naturally lay up to 8 eggs. Since they did lay eight, and eight eggs hatched in total, they had a 100% hatch-rate. How much will survive, can commonly depend on cage size. Like I said before, they will let chicks die, if the cage is too small, to prevent crowding. That's good that they're surviving now. What are they doing differently? Whatever it is, keep it up, and they'll have better chance of survival. If they're still doing everything the same, that's ok, but it would still be a good idea to just keep conscious of how much they check on them, and for how long. It's common for birds in general to get stressed out, if someone is watching their nest. Just try to minimum activity levels in said room, make sure they feel as safe as possible. Just little things to help ensure chick's survival.
