Welcome to the group! We're starting to get a lot of Tucsonans here who bought babies from me lol. Is Coco the bird's new name?

BTW the bird with the foot problem is NOT the one you got from me, is it? Because her feet were fine when she was with me. I say "she" but I don't actually know the sex.

Hahaha! No, i bought Coco first, but then i felt like she was lonely, so i got another cockatiel for her to play with: Pip, wich toes were unfortunatelly twisted. But they are starting to get along!
And yes, I changed Vesta for Coco :D ... Is that okay? Or should i keep calling her vesta?

I too found this place through Carolyn. I bought Lucy (aka Hester) from that same bird mart.

So Coco was from Pip and Ladybug's clutch that hatched around the same time Shodu and Buster's clutch hatched that Lucy was in. In fact, Coco and Lucy have the very same hatch date according to the paper.

It's fine to call her Coco or any other name that you like. I give all my babies temporary names so I have something to call them. But the names are pretty random and not meant to be permanent. I called her Vesta because her chest markings look like she's wearing a little vest.

If Coco came from Pip and Ladybug, then does that mean she's Coyote's little sister? (Coyote belongs to Cloudy Skies, who bought him from Carolyn, last year)

 Carolyn is connecting us together through her cockatiel babies!

Yes, Coco is Coyote's sister. Or maybe his brother. When Pip and Ladybug have a cinnamon chick I know it's a girl but I don't know the sex of the grey chicks, and Coco is grey. I usually make some kind of assumption about the sex because I like saying he or she better than I like saying "it", but there's no real basis for it and I could be totally wrong.

Have you tried looking at the underside of the wings once they're fledged? Apparently, females have spots on the underside, but males don't. Thing is, young males have the spots too, and they go away after a while. I'm not sure if that is for every color mutation. However, I do know if that applies to all color mutations. It might not apply to a cockatiel like Coco.

Also, it seems that female cockatiels have a certain design to the underside of their tail feathers as well. Lucy has this kind of design, so I know you're right about her being female.
