Hi, I'm new.My name is Stephanie. I live in Saratoga Springs, NY. I am the happy flock of one Pearl Hen named Peach. I have 2 dogs, one cat and two community aquariums. I like to feed my animals as close to their wild diet as possible. I have been looking at this website and it looks like their may be some like-minded people here.

It's not possible to perfectly replicate the wild diet, and it's not desirable either because pet birds have a very different activity level than wild birds. But there are ways to provide some things that our birds would eat in the wild. If you have access to pesticide-free grass in the summertime, you can pick grass with unripe seed heads on it and give it to the birds. I leave a corner of the lawn unmowed as a source of bird food. You can also plant seeds and grains and harvest the seed heads when the time is right.
