Hello everyone. I'm Helen and our family has recently purchased 2 budgies called George & Belle. We bought them as our children our fascinated by them and love their comical antics. They sit and watch them play for ages.

We must be very lucky as they are very sweet birds and are teaching me such a massive amount about bird psychology and communication.

At the moment George is very happy to eat melon and millet from my hand and loves having his tummy tickled. Belle is younger and still getting to know us but is much braver than George and is fascinated with jingly bells, much to the kids delight.

I am still trying to decipher what colour/type they are (mind well and truly boggled). Will post photos when I can.

Would appreciate any advice from other budgie friends.

Thanks

Helen

Welcome to the group! It sounds like you're doing a great job already, but we'll be happy to help with any specific questions that you have. If George is a little nervous about exploring new areas, you can encourage him to explore by putting his favorite treats in these areas. Both birds will learn from watching each other, so seeing Belle do something will encourage George to do it and vice versa.

Once you've posted some pictures we'll try to identify the mutations for you. We have several budgie owners here and I'm interested in learning more about their mutations, so we should be able to tell you something about it!
