My name's Rebecca and I am from the UK.
We have 2 budgies, think they are both male but not entirely sure! Theo is nearly 6 months old and Sammy is 5 months old. They seemed to be getting on well but this past week Theo has been raising his leg to Sammy's chest which I understand to be a sign of aggression. Would anyone be able to advise if we need to do anything about this as I've not had budgies before. Also if I attach a photo of them would anyone be able to say what sex they thought they might be? I know it's very hard to tell up until they are a year old.

Hi, welcome to the group! If you post a picture we'll do our best to identify the sex(es) of your birds.

I wouldn't worry too much about a raised foot. It's normal for birds to squabble with each other sometimes and a little "pushing and shoving" behavior doesn't do any harm. Real violence where they're trying to harm each other looks different and you'll recognize it if you see it. They need to be separated if the fighting gets serious, but minor arguments are OK.

Here's a display of the image. When you're in Photobucket and have the large version of the image on the screen (not the thumbnail), look at the right side of the picture to where it says Share Links, then click on the one that says IMG. It'll copy the url, then you just paste it into your message on the forum. Both birds are definitely boys, and handsome sassy-looking fellows at that!
