If the temperature is warm enough for humans to feel comfortable, the birds will be comfortable too. When the temperature changes it will take them a little while to adjust to it, just like it does with humans. Wild budgies live in the Australian Outback where the winter temperatures can drop down into the 40s or even the 30s at night, so they can take cool temperatures as long as the change isn't too sudden and drastic. So you don't need to keep her covered unless your house is exceptionally cold.
Oooh, that explains it ...Cool! I thought the Australian Outback is hot in the morning and a little cooler at night but didn't expect that!
My mom still complains about them being loud so she covers them up =/
