During today's session, I saw that Kaylee's cere is a bit dark purple and crusty on the bottom.

You have good instincts. Some people see birds living in the wild without any apparent problem, so they think that if you turn a pet bird loose it wouldn't have any problems either. It's not like that at all. Wild birds have problems but we usually don't see it because the bird dies from the problem and is eaten by a predator or scavenger when we're not looking. It's even worse for pet birds because they didn't learn the survival skills when they were young, and would most likely starve or get killed by a predator before they could learn very much on their own. It takes weeks or months for wild birds to learn everything they need to know, and they have their parents and the rest of the flock to show them what to do and help keep them safe while they're learning the skills. A pet bird on the loose wouldn't have a flock to help them.

BTW on the bottom of Kaylee 's cere is a purple color, but on top is the light blue and white circles around her nostril .

I think this is probably normal. There cere isn't always a uniform color. I'm not an expert on budgies, but I used to have a budgie hen whose cere color would change depending on how hormonal she was. When her hormones were high it was brown. When they were low it was a pale white-blue.

Haven't been active for quite a while. So right now it's almost winter in CA and Kaylee and Sunshine are doing pretty well except they've been tail bobbing slightly with a sneezing sometimes. They now always have 3 covers on the cage covering the 2 sides and top leaving the front open.

Oh and on another bird forum for budgies, I heard that they're moving to this website?

No one's said anything to me about a plan to move over here lol.

Tail bobbing is bad, it's a sign of respiratory distress. But it's possible that what you're seeing isn't 'real' tail bobbing. Do your budgies seem to be breathing normally?

Yep but just when I got home, Kaylee was all poofed up and breathing quickly and with slightly pinned eyes. No tail bobbing though , it took me a few minutes to get her back to her normal self.

Oh I guess that's another website because they only put littlefeathers ir something like that.Edit- Yep another website.

Keep a close eye on them, and if they seem to be sick take them to a vet.

Now only Kaylee seems to be "tail bobbing" and breathing normally
Sunshine is fine.

They seem to be going through a molt, pin feathers are only on their face and I have been spraying them once every 1-2 days
