I had Bubu hospitalised twice in his life, both times there was a moment where he looked like he wouldn't make it. Once I took him home and he got worse within a few hours. Then he got better.
He was having spells of energy and then down again.
So I am not surprised at all that Beaker is showing such an erratic line.
Let's just hope that on the whole the line is going up.

He might be perking up in reaction to something interesting that's going on but can't keep up the energy for long. Or maybe he gets little bursts of energy from eating or drinking something, but again can't keep it up for long. It's good for him to rest when he needs it, and also good that he's acting energetic part of the time.

Hopefully the worst is over now and there will be steady improvement from now on. They had a very close call so it will probably take a while for them to recover. As their appetite increases they'll need high-nutrition foods with lots of calories in it. Like all the sunflower seeds they want! A small amount of cooked egg every day would be good too - it has lots of nutrients and calories. I like to make a scrambled egg, chop it into pieces, then store it in the freezer in a plastic bag so I can take out small amounts to give the birds. Other people will hard-boil an egg then chop it up. It's whatever your birds like best, and what's easiest for you.

Alright. I'll hard boil an egg for them. They like hard boiled eggs, but won't touch scrambled. Surprisingly, they don't like sunflower seeds. My lovie Teak used to love them. They will eat most other stuff though. I'll give them some egg, whole wheat pasta, brown rice and beans. They're tired of getting pellet mash anyways.

Birds when they are ill are very much like children....
down one minute and up the next...
How are your boys today?

Very true... and they are usually very naughty patients!

They are naughty patients. Beaker hissed at me when I uncovered him. But that's better none the less.

They actually haven't changed at all from yesterday. Beaker still has his bursts of energy then crashes and Jaid still doesn't look good, but hasn't vomited in 2 days, which is an improvement.

Hissing is a good sign, it takes energy to get mad. Can you tell whether they've gained any weight, or at least stabilized?

No weight gain. But I can't see any weight loss either.

Well that's a start anyway. Hopefully they'll start to gain weight soon.
