sorry for the stupid question. how do I tell if he's molting or not? he is preening. also tiny (and not so tiny) feathers all over the place. But I bet kids are molting too. SO I am not sure about Trillie.
I would say exactly that he looks like he wants to be left alone and relax.

He's probably molting, but you'll know for sure if you start seeing pinfeathers on his head.

oh I see. I recently saw a pin feather on the head of one older baby, and thought - why is that? I even wanted to pull it out :)

darn, one of two long food cups that came with the cage, just broke. There should be four of them, but one arrived already broken, another broke at day one when I tried to attach it between the cage bars (I expected it to fit as they are made for a particular cage!) and another broke yesterday. Everywhere the distance between the handles that attach the cup doesn't match the spacing between bars. That's a big frustration for all of us, as I have no replacement yet and the birds were USING both. I am not sure if I can buy a similar food cup and I plan to contact Prevue.

You can buy coop cups and use those. I like them better than the cups that came with the cage anyway. There's a hook-on type and a screw-on type. You can order them online, and some pet stores keep them in stock.

Here are some images from Amazon.

Is Cuddles back to normal now?

I do have some coop cups but for my purpose those that came with the cage work better. My biggest complain is that you have to fill this shiny metal cup pretty much full, and then only one bird can eat from it. The seeds on the top are getting eaten while the rest of them are getting old. As strange as it sounds, I appreciate that the long plastic double cups are pretty shallow so it's easy to just get rid of hulls and fill them with fresh stuff. Several birds can eat from those, and this is what happens in my house.
Cuddles is certainly much better but I can't say she is back to the one we used to have. She seems to have lack of energy and to be depressed by all the kids around her. Often I see that she chases away other birds if they come to eat with her. I already mentioned before that our house is very dark by itself, I always try to spend time outdoors, so no wonder a bird could be depressed from seeing no natural light for so long.

Bella did something to her tail feather that it looks like this now, should I cut it or leave it? I don;t know much about this, always when people mention blood feather I am confused. Is this one not a blood one?
Interesting enough, both birds on the picture are virtually twins but from different clutches. The younger one (it's Babyface) is getting rid of his/her black beak gradually - it looks like the black layer on the beak is peeling off!

The broken tail feather is OK, definitely not a blood feather. You can finish snapping off the broken piece if you want to, or just leave it alone and it will eventually break off by itself.

You don't have to fill the coop cups completely full. I just put a shallow layer in the bottom, so the birds don't spill very much and it gets used up quickly. The birds will have to bend down to reach the seed but that's OK, they don't have a problem with it. If you have more than one food cup in the cage, more birds can eat at the same time.

Once the babies are grown up and weaned the parents lose interest them, and start to think that they're more of a nuisance than anything else. It sounds like Cuddles is at that stage lol.

Sort of like human teenagers!
