ok so the poop problems have been discovered... they both have bacterial infections!

theyre on erythromycin

only mango is showing outward signs besides the poops. hes been a little fluffed lately and hanging around the cage bottom a bit more (could also be nestiness) but hopefully they will be ok :)

At least you know what the answer is and how to fix it. Do you know what caused the infections?

There are some types of bacteria that are in the environment all the time, and turn into a problem when their victim is stressed or weakened. Trying to breed is stressful so I don't know if that would have had anything to do with it. I hope the poor babies get well soon!

its been an underlying problem for a long time now, it could be anything. it could be something from their old home that munch caught and gave to mango. their old owner did let her dog lick them....

but i think the more likely cause of infection was their food dunking habits. when younger they food dunked obsessively. they'd dunk everything in their water, i'd change their water 3-4 times a day, but there would be days i worked where i could only change it maybe 2 times a day.... thats a potential cause of infection.

but yes, nesting has brought out the illness. whatever caused it, munch had it first and gave it to mango.
