Hi Everybody. I just noticed that Peach's beak looks a bit long. She'll be going to her vet in the springtime to get her nails clipped. It does look long though. Not sure if I should wait. Any input on avg. beak length would be helpful. How do you tell??

Can you post a picture? That will help us know whether it looks normal or not. The beak grows continuously just like toenails so it's going to vary a little, but the bird usually keeps it worn down. But when the beak does get too long it can be a symptom of liver disease, so it's good to get it vet-checked if it's not a normal length.

Yes please post a picture! I suspect that my Mr Darcy has a beak that's a bit too long, seeing yours and the comments to it will definitely help me too.

If you post a picture of Darcy's beak we can give an opinion on him too.

Darcy's beak looks fine to me. There's a little bit at the tip where the top side of the beak has flaked off and the underside hasn't done it yet, but this is normal.

Sorry, I have been struggling with an attack of Vertigo and just saw all of the response to my question. Peach's beak looks exactly like Darcys. I will try to get a pic on here ASAP.
