Let's start out by saying, it's not about my tiels. I told them I would ask for them.

He says his bird has yellow urates and green feces.
She is falling off of her perches.
Her vent is stained yellow.


That's what I've gathered from the conversation. My best guess is a liver issue or possibility some toxicity. But I'm no vet. Her feathers are not yellow, just the feathers around her vent. And she's been having that kind of poop for a week or so.

Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Discolored urates can be a sign of liver disease, but they can also be a symptom of bacterial infection and other problems. It's possible that she's falling off the perch due to weakness. I'd get this bird to a vet ASAP for diagnosis and treatment. With infections, quick treatment can be the difference between life and death. If it's some other issue like liver disease, it's possible that she might be too far gone for help since she's already at the point where she's falling off the perch. But a good vet will know more about the options than I do, and might be able to save her.
