Guys, my little brother sprayed windex all over my parakeets! They were drenched! So, I put them in the shower, and tried to wash them off the best I could. Do you think they'll live? Is there anything else I can do?

Washing them off promptly was the best thing to do. If they're acting normal now they'll probably be OK but keep an eye on them. Birds have very sensitive respiratory systems, and the biggest danger is probably from whatever they might have inhaled. But if they don't smell like windex and are breathing, eating and pooping normally and have their usual energy level, there probably won't be any problems from it later on.

I'm glad they are okay. What made your brother do that?

Yes, why your brother did such a weird thing? How old is he?

Last update from Hannah's brother was that he was 4 years old. That update wasn't more than a year ago so the oldest he can be is 5. I don't know why he would do such a thing but it think you should start out by telling him how birds are really delicate with fumes and such.

I agree. We need more members. I don't know any good way to attract. We have been getting some new members lately but they aren't active enough to keep LFB running and active. I give links from the stickies here and help them out on Yahoo! Answers. I also tell them on the "source" how informational and good this forum is. I guess they rather be on Yahoo! Answers where people give bad information. My answers have been chosen as the best answer many times. I just wish more people can be active here.

My experience is that people who can get advice from someone on the forum where they are will usually stay on that forum, and not join the forum belonging to the advice-giver or recommended by the advice-giver. This forum didn't become active until I left TC and the people over there had to come here if they still wanted to talk to me lol.

There's activity here on most days with a "no new posts" day once in a while. The activity that we do have tends to be good-quality information sharing, not pointless "how's the weather on your end" chit chat. So it's far from dead lol.

I agree its a hard job to get people to join and participate in topics....
I've yet to discover how to make a forum really active all the time... its up to the members to join in and chat
I don't ask question much, but always try to answer posts if I can be of help.
