I am feeling like maybe I'm not the best person for keeping a bird. Just a little while ago Peach was on my shoulder as i was having a mug of tea. Suddenly she jumped to the rim of the mug and then fell into the very hot tea legs and belly.
She let me wrap her legs in a cold cloth and then even let me put a good amount of Aloe all over her feet and legs. She is back in her cage under her light. She looks wobbly and puffy, sleepy.
I feel absolutely horrible. It seems like I might lose her.

Keep her warm, and get her to drink some electrolyte solution if you can. If you have any Pedialyte or a sports drink like Gatorade on hand that will work. If you don't have any of that, you can make your own solution with sugar, salt and water. The recipe is here: http://www.webmd.com/hw-popup/rehydrati ... ar=hw86827

Is it possible to get her to a vet, or at least talk to a vet on the phone? I hope she feels better soon!

It was an accident. I hope she'll be OK.

I'm going to make the sugar drink. She looks better now but she is still shaking.

She is eating and she drank some of the sugar/salt water. She is using her feet and legs with no apparent problem.

Good, I'm relieved that she's feeling better! Electrolyte solutions can be VERY helpful in restoring a bird's energy when the body is weakened or in a state of stress or shock.

I owe a little bit of my life to Gatorade. It really does help. I'm glad Peach is okay.

I'm so sorry this happened. I drink tea all the time--I'm worried.
I so hope she is continuing to feel better.

Thanks to everyone for the support. Peach seems to be fine now. I am still giving her the electrolyte water and keeping her quiet and warm Maybe the tea wasn't as hot at I thought. I still cannot get over her jumping into my tea mug!
