I actually had to edit my earlier post because I thought that picture was Beck. I'm not used to seeing Poppy fluffy like that.

That's not his English side.

THIS is his English side:Image

Good to know Cloudy skies. I've never had an English-ish budgie before. He's only half English but some days he really poofs up.

It always makes me think about those little capsules that when you drop them in water they poof up and grow into a shaped sponge.

Some days he's just normal and then poof, he's fluffy.

That picture sort of looks like Beck is looking in a fun house mirror. It's hilarious!

Oh yes, the silly mirrors at the carnival. It does look like that, doesn't it?

Oh yes, and everybody was right. It is from molting.

None of my birds have ever had such violent pins as poor Poppy. The bald spot above his cere was covered, but unfortunately it is covered by pins, along with the rest of his head. He looks awful. I just wish I could scratch all his yucky pins away. He is so miserable as a matter of fact. I am going to give him a bath tomorrow, but I know he won't like it. He needs something done though. Even if I could rub his head with my nose I would definitely do that because I know Beck won't preen him.
