Well if the dove is in my hand, and not in the cage, then the whole "wanting to flock" explanation doesn't make too much sense, as to why she acted the way she did. I think that she just didn't want to step down from a comfortably high place, and is starting to feel a little more angry about doing things she doesn't want to. She's always liked sitting on my shoulder, but she's never objected to having to come off, before.
Heck, yesterday, she hissed at me as I was filling up her food bowl.
