You're so awesome Erik. Thank you so much. I'm just scared to lose him. I'm glad I found a vet that's not far away from me. It's about 20 minutes.
It's a $90 consultation. That's not a lot for me. I told my mom I'll pay her back every penny. I'll do anything for my bird to be ok.

Eek!! I just saw this and I hope he's OK. Another possibility that actually seems more likely is that he had a night fright and crashed into something in the dark. He's not used to sleeping in bed with a human so it would be easy for your movements to startle him.

The symptoms definitely do sound like head trauama. There's not too much that a vet can do about a head injury besides let it heal itself, but fortunately it does sound like he's improving. I hope he continues to improve until he's back to his old self. What the vet CAN do is provide Sub Q fluids (that means subcutaneous, under the skin; it's what they do with birds instead of intravenous) so he stays hydrated which is very important. Proper hydration including electrolytes can stop vomiting in some circumstances, so I hope that it works for Rio.

My sister did the same exact thing when she was younger. She did it to her cockatiel. I'll spare the details of the poor bird's fate, but I'll only say that she didn't wake up in time.

Rio has more of a chance though. My mom doesn't do avian vets as she takes care of most of the ailments by herself. Problem with that is that you can't take care of head trauma without professional medical experience. So even if the bird was alive when my sister woke up, it might have been inevitable. You have the access to veterinary care, and the fact that Rio is still alive gives a glimmer of hope that he might be ok.

Tell us how it goes alright? I hope they can help him.

Back from the vet. They weighed him. He is 91 grams. They gave him some fluid in this body and a shot of batryl. He is eating now. I'll have to keep an eye on him
