Birds don't need shots unless they are sick and the vet recommends it. Other than that, it's not needed.

Yes. Dogs and cats get shots to protect against rabies. Birds are not mammals, so therefore can't get rabies.

There are very few vaccinations available for birds and most people don't use them because the risk of getting the disease is so low.

I think you'd have to go to a vet to get the shots, and they might have to special order the materials because they're rarely used. It looks like the only vaccine that's really available is for polyomavirus. It does say at http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-health/ ... cines.aspx that caiques are one of the species that are most susceptible to this, and if your bird is going to be in contact with a lot of other birds it might be a good idea to get it. But otherwise it's not necessary.
