So I noticed that Satchimo's foot had blood on it yesterday. It was a tiny amount though so I just washed it off. But early today, I saw Meema's foot with A LOT of blood. I washed it off gently with water and I hope she gets better. I didn't understand what was going on, so I sat down looking at them for a while, and I noticed that Coco had outbursts and bit whatever was around him. If it was a bird though, he'd go for the feet and the head. I couldn't let this go for longer so I separated them.

This is what I did:

The cardboard is pretty still, I doubt they'll be able to go out.

This is temporary until I know what to do. I also need bigger cages.

Why do you think he behaves like that? Could he be jealous? I give him lots of attention, but I guess he could be jealous. He also sleeps well, I don't think he's hormonal. What the heck has gotten into him?

It's springtime, so it's likely to be hormones. If he perceives his cage as a nesting area (a lot of birds do this), he will defend it against intruders.

Oh, thought he was just being a nasty jerk. Should I still keep them separated?

Yes. Keep them separated. Also, next time, its better not to wash new wounds and it can interrupt with the clotting process.

Also, nice job. That is a great way to keep the birds separated while using your creativity.

May i suggest the Prevue f040v cage? I have it and it is really amazing. Best cage I have bought. You can house your budgies in one and your tiels in the other.

Here's a link to Amazon's listing for that cage: http://smile.amazon.com/Prevue-Products ... 00176F5L0/

You can get it in other places too. There's a larger version of this cage called the F050. I have that one and I love it: http://smile.amazon.com/Prevue-Hendryx- ... 0002AQ228/

It's looks like it's not on sale anymore. :(

I got mine for $80. It was on a sale in the summer. I think you should wait a few months until it goes back on the sale. That cage is almost always on that $80 sale. CHEVK Dr. Fostersandsmith they also had it on sale. I'm going to Che k now actually.

Nope. Dr. Fosters and Smith is also back to its regular price. Just wait a couple more months. The sale should be back.
