His feathers are all fluffed up since a couple of days back, but I ignored it because I thought it was normal. But today was different.

I got back home and he was sleeping at the bottom of the cage, I tried to wake him up calling him, but he didn't open his eyes. I opened the cage and I had to touch him for him to wake up.

I took him out, but his feet were all clumped up and fell off my hand a couple of times, he is clumsy. He eats, but he's very slow and while he's doing it, he has his eyes shut. Please help me.

What could it be?

I don't know what it might be. Keep him isolated from the other birds so he won't spread germs around. Keep him warm. One technique is to cover one end of the cage with a towel and shine a lamp on it so the heat goes into the cage. Another technique is to put a heating pad under half the cage. You only heat part of the cage so he can move if he gets too warm.

It's often very helpful with sick or injured birds to give them an electrolyte solution. The easiest way to do this is with a sports drink like Gatorade or a product made for human babies like Pedialyte. You can also make your own - the simplest recipe calls for sugar, salt and water: http://www.webmd.com/hw-popup/rehydrati ... ar=hw86827

There's a slightly more complicated formula here: http://clearingmyemptynest.blogspot.com ... emade.html

Talk to a vet if you can.

You can do that, but a more effective way to get him to take it sooner might be to soak some seeds in the gatorade for a few minutes, then feed the seeds to him from your hand. This worked very well for me when Vlad needed some help.

Any updates?

Maybe you can make a sick-cage. Just in case it happens again.

I found a youtube clip about it:

phpBB [video]

the sound is very silent though...

I hope he'll be OK. Going to a new home is stressful for birds, and sometimes it can lead to health problems. Be careful that the bulb isn't so close to the sheets that it's a fire hazard.
