I came home to see that this guy put his head in the cabinet that was slightly open and couldn't get it back out,,, not sure how long he was like this. I opened the cabinet to release him... he made a chirp to the flock...picked him up - he was very weak...probably in shock. I put him in the cage and covered the cage... there is water and food in there but he is not eating...
I am not taking him to the vet not to stress him, not sure if vet would help anyway...
Any recommendations? I am going to get an electrolyte drink... Should I get formula too?
PS he is sitting in the cage on the perch doing nothing but I think he looks better.

Thanks Dianne! he accepted a sip of water when I handed him a water bowl. he pooped twice but little poops. He didn't eat anything even though he has lots of millet next to him when I am getting my hands into the cage, he tries to move away from me and makes a weak protesting chirp. I guess he is not THAT bad?

It's likely that he'll feel a lot better shortly after you get the electrolytes into him. He ate a bit of millet on his own in the cage, and later I put seed dish in front of him - he was hesitant if he wanted it, he started to eat but immediately changed his mind. I haven't tried feeding him from my hand but I seriously doubt he would eat this way In general, any serious consequences possible from such situation or should he fully recover?

Tomorrow, should I let him out of the cage like anybody else or do I need to keep him caged?

thanks.. I think he is better. I gave him Gatorade this morning, and he was resisting being wrapped real bad (I could feel how strong he was), he also drew blood in my finger. He seemed to enjoy the drink, but I am wondering how much to give and how not to harm the bird by giving too much or giving it into the wrong passage. He was sneezing a bit after getting Gatorade. I am using glass eye dropper, a regular small size. I filled it and gave it and not a whole amount ended up in his beak. How much Gatorade should I give him? I put him back into the cage and left the door open, but he is sitting in the cage probably stressed again after being wrapped LOL After I woke them up, I saw him eating seeds from the cage feeder but he didn't stay eating long.
