I have a four year old budgie, Blue, who is a female. She eats seeds, sprouts, some varied vegs and egg food. For the last three days she is off her seeds completely, so I have been giving her all the rest, still offering the seeds, but she won't eat them. She will eat millet just fine, and the sprouts and egg food, and this morning ate a little corn, but that is it. She chirps and plays with her toys, and seems OK otherwise, however, she has been napping more. I have had some company for the past week, and everyone is up early so they aren't getting as much sleep, although I do keep them covered and try to keep it as quiet as I can. Not sure what is going on though. She always eats her seeds so going off them has me a bit worried. Her poops look pretty normal, although she isn't pooping quite as often. Any ideas?

My guess is that the disruption of having guests in the household has thrown her off of her usual routine. But keep an eye on her and call the vet if you have any doubts. Do you have a scale so you can weigh her every morning to make sure her weight is holding steady?

Maybe little hormonal

I have a scale, but she is not tame, and won't let me weigh her. She won't even come out of her cage with me unless I take her out to put her in her travel cage.
She does appear however, to be holding her weight. Her keel bone seems the same, not prominent, not too hidden either.

I thought about that too, so I am covering her with double the dark sheets, just in case. Guest's will be leaving in the next couple of days so hopefully she gets back to the routine. Thanks.

She is doing a lot better. She is still not eating much seed yet, but I have been giving her veg's, egg food, sprouts and some millet and she eats all of that well. She is starting to pick at the seeds again though. She won't touch pellets though, but I keep trying. Thanks for the replies.

Weight the travel cage in grams, then, put them bird in the travel cage and weigh both. Then, subtract the one with her, to the one with only the travel cage. There is your answer.
