I have a shelf where some leftovers are being put if they don't get thrown away immediately. I had a small pile of old veggies there (that I was serving to my birds before) and it got moldy (underneath the veggies). I threw away veggies but there was a gray dry residue from the mold that I though I would clean later. It looked like gray dry powder. Also, a spill of seeds happened in the same area (and this is not where I serve food to my birds)
Anyway, today I saw a few of my birds sitting there and foraging for the spilled seeds right where the gray dust was.... (that's when lots of fresh food was available at the designated feeding place)
I know this wasn't a great job on my side :(
What health issues can I expect and what should I do? anything I can do to prevent health issues? Thanks.

Hopefully nothing will happen, but it would be good to clean up that residue before the birds go there again.

It shouldn't be much of an issue. I use F10 to clean everything and it's fantastic for cleaning up areas where your animals will be. I learnt about it at the vets I volunteered at. Will get rid of anything harmful. Continuous exposure to mould could lead to aspergillosis but I wouldn't be worrying about that any time soon. It's usually likely to occur when the immune system is already down

thank you tielfan and deebee.
Of course, I cleaned that area as soon as I saw them there.
So far, they seem to be OK and I hope this is the way it will stay.

I do get too busy at times, I wish I would afford cleaning lady :)
