She obviously wants to eat something besides millet! When you don't share, it makes her want it even more! Maybe have a bit of greenery available to share the next time you eat a sandwich in front of her.

I ate some spinch leaves in front of her and added that. Seeing as it was something she actually used to eat, before she became addicted to millet. Shes also gone back to the wheat, that she had been refusing. She will have a go at it, if there's nothing better lying about.

It sounds like she was going through a phase and is gradually getting back to normal now.

Its difficult to get her out of bad habits. They formed really quickly. She has gone back to the spinach leaves . It looks like she likes the crumbles. She will dig around in the seed mix I put in, less the millet. Loves the weekly treat of egg and biscuit. I mixed through, trill fruit and veg mix. She ate around all the bits and left them behind. She loves the treat stick, but wont leave the cage to get it. Even though it has millet. So she will stay in, over getting the treat. Not hungry enough to venture out. Im thinking I might need to get a male bird. All my past birds would fly about, when I opened the door. On the plus side, she was more vocal today, talking to herself and us.

It looks to me like Snowy has a dark blue cere in the picture . If that's right, then "she" is an adult male. Females can sometimes have a pale blue cere that changes to a brown color when they're hormonal, but dark blue is a sign of a male.

The budgie gods have spoken. Someone didnt want their bird, so Chippy has a new buddy. She is clearly a boy, so have to give a new name. Chippy has been stuffing her face since she spotted the intruder, like hes going to eat all her food. :bigsmile100:

That's an unusual way to get a bird to eat a better diet!
