Is he a fan of nutriberries? Those are healthy and you could feed him a few each day.
Also, expect him to always try and get at least a nibble of your food. Even when he has foods he really likes, he's naturally going to want to have whatever you're having. Plus it seems that they enjoy food better when they have to steal it. Eventually he'll get into the habit of just eating his own food while you eat yours, but that might take a while.
I've actually had to stop having the birds out while I eat because they're so persistent about trying to eat what I'm eating, regardless if what I have for them is the same or not. They specifically want to steal from me, and they have both been known to land
on my food (Alex flew and landed on my sandwich once; Lucy hopped into a bowl of milk from my cereal once and Alex has tried to do the same).
I can only hope Zorro isn't THAT pushy.
