Anyone know a healthy snack mix i can give zorro daily. I want something i can give him while we eat so dont need to defend our food.

He'll probably always still go for your food. It'll be more appealing since you're eating it and because he is being told not to go for it.

Danny doesn't like normal big bird treats, but his favorite treat is apples. Other than that, I don't really have any good suggestions.

If he has food he likes he will go 4 that. Judt dont think fruit n nut mix is ok daily.

He'll soon realize his is best.....

Is he a fan of nutriberries? Those are healthy and you could feed him a few each day.

Also, expect him to always try and get at least a nibble of your food. Even when he has foods he really likes, he's naturally going to want to have whatever you're having. Plus it seems that they enjoy food better when they have to steal it. Eventually he'll get into the habit of just eating his own food while you eat yours, but that might take a while.

I've actually had to stop having the birds out while I eat because they're so persistent about trying to eat what I'm eating, regardless if what I have for them is the same or not. They specifically want to steal from me, and they have both been known to land on my food (Alex flew and landed on my sandwich once; Lucy hopped into a bowl of milk from my cereal once and Alex has tried to do the same).
I can only hope Zorro isn't THAT pushy.

Our cockatoo and 'zon were a nightmare whenever we were trying to eat anything. They'd throw the biggest tantrums ever when being put in their cages if they knew we were eating. Snacks included! They think they're entitled to everything haha

If he likes them, I highly recommend cutting up some seedless green grapes. All of my parrots love them as a treat. You could also try a little dish or plate of all of his favourite foods. I'd try the grapes with some hemp seeds sprinkled on the top. I swear birds like hemp seeds more than they do sunflowers!
