I have seen many people that say their birds are scared of vegetables and that they have to get used to it.

My birds are totally different, any vegetable that is green, they will eat. When I came in the aviary with the carrot top that I grew. Marshmallow flew to me to eat it before I got a chance to clip it to their cage and the weird part is that Marshmallow never ate carrot tops in her life. My other cockatiels are the same. Last week, I gave them baby arugula and without hesitation, they finished it. I wouldn't forget the broccoli and parsley. They LOVE veggies. Even more than seeds.

They get veggies at least twice a week. I am currently sprouting chia seeds for them. I heard its REALLY healthy. I'm am sure they will love it.

This is why they're not scared of veggies. They're used to eating them and to getting a variety. Birds that are scared of vegetables are usually birds that are being introduced to them and don't know that they're delicious.

My birds aren't scared of veggies either. If I give them something new they won't necessarily eat it right away, but it would have to be exceptionally weird looking for them to be afraid of it.

Several of mine were initially hesitant about veggies, but they got over it very fast.

Denali is scared of red peppers for some reason I can't fathom. Yellow, orange, and green peppers are fine! Other red things are fine! I have no idea what red peppers did to him, but he hisses at them.

They say that a lot of birds are afraid of the color red. It's a danger sign in the wild since it's the color of blood. But it doesn't bother my birds at all.

People with red fingernails scare my birds because I hear it reminds them of bloody claws coming for them.

It took Beaker 3 years to stop hissing at carrots. He didn't like orange things.

Thanks everyone. I know my birds wouldn't be scared of the same vegtable but when I introduce them a new vegtable (carrot tops) they act like they have been eating it every day of their lives.

It's green and it's leafy and it has the thin stems that cockatiels love so much. How could they NOT devour it?
