The listing for Beaphar at http://www.northernparrots.com/beaphar- ... rod564232/ shows the added vitamins if you click on Details, and vitamin D3 is in there. The number of spoons depends on what size spoon you use and how much your birds eat. Most websites say cockatiels eat 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons a day (one tablespoon=3 teaspoons), or about 15 grams. So that's a starting point. It's important for birds to get enough calories every day, so be sure to give them plenty of time to eat seeds etc in the afternoon (or in the late morning), in case they don't eat enough pellets in the early morning.

Ok thanks. How do you know if they are eating the pellets and not just grinding them up because I always see lots of it in dust.

Quote: How do you know if they are eating the pellets and not just grinding them up There's no way to be 100% sure, but if they're chewing on it there's a high probability that they're eating some of it too. Grinding pellets into powder isn't so much fun that they're likely to be doing it for entertainment. Parrots instinctively try to remove the hull from their food even if it doesn't have one. If a piece is too big for them to swallow whole they'll also break it down to a smaller size.
