I was researching about couscous, pearl couscous, if it was good for the tiels and this came up

I never thought that dog food was safe for birds!!

They seem to be talking about wild birds, not pets. A lot of birds are omnivores, and dog food would be a reasonable thing for them to eat. I wouldn't give it to a parrot. And I wouldn't give doughnuts to any bird! That's one of the things on their list.
