A week or so ago I posted about Silver letting me rub the top of his head with my nose.
So, I do this when they are all out on top of the cage. Then, Emma comes over and hangs out about 6 inches away. She watches us. I wonder what she is thinking. She's certainly interested in what is going on, even though she doesn't want me to touch her yet.
Meanwhile, Emma's chirping has settled down, and Silver is not chasing her with his heartwings quite as much.
Mating activity between Piper and Emma has become much less frequent since I have had them on longer nights.

It's very helpful to have one bird setting a good example for the other! Who knows, maybe Emma will want head scritches someday.
Long nights are a great thing, aren't they? Very effective for keeping romantic behavior under control.

Poppy saw my cockatiels step up on me, and after a few minutes of thought he did it too. They learn from observing.
