It looks like Poppy has done a good job of training the human to be an acceptable perch!

Beck still is very uncooperative. He kind of has that, 'you don't bother me, I won't bother you' attitude. Oh well, I won't push him if he doesn't want to. Oddly, he is refusing to come out of the cage again. He did for a brief period and I thought he was over that phase, but I guess not. It seem Poppy will be the trainable one. But, he will step up on the floor, or going into the cage. We haven't tried coming from the cage, or on top yet, but I think it was because he saw the cockatiels step up for me and walk away unharmed, so he would try it daddy. It really worked! I haven't tried it with me yet.

Thank you Dianne.

Now Beck will hop over to see me when I walk up.

I think it's a learning example. He sees the much braver Poppy come up and get a silly voice and makes it look like a ball, and he wants that too, so he'll try it.

Having another bird to set a good example REALLY helps, especially if that bird gets some kind of reward for playing with you. It sets off their competitive instincts lol.

I used Poppy's fascination with my teeth to my advantage. I slowly moved closer and he ever so gently nibbled my nose! He is the sweetest little boy.
