It's been about a week since I posted about Emma.

She's gradually getting back to being more herself. She will sometimes come to my forearm for treats, like she used to do. She leaves as soon as the treat has been consumed, just like before.

I've been observing her and thinking about her personality. She seems to like it when I talk to her, but only if I am an appropriate distance away. She has a definite "bubble of personal space" she likes to maintain. It's about 12 to 18" in diameter.

She will let Piper into her "bubble", and likes him to preen her. He is the only one. She's been rebuffing Silver's attempts to woo her.

She likes toys and plays with them gently.

I would say that she has recovered from the clipping. I'm trying to work my way into her affection with treats and soft conversation. I'm also trying hard to understand her better.

It's true that some birds have bigger bubbles than others, while some seem to accept everyone in their own space. I want to try measure mines'.
You are a great observer, together with the fact that you obviously love Emma so much I am sure you will build a great relationship!

I've a bird who I can only get near when I towel him... he then squawks at me till I let him go...
each bird has his or her own personality.... he's perfectly happy in the cage and is beginning to talk also..

Which one is he? I see you have three. A cockatiel, a lovebird, and a parrotlet--I'm guessing from the pictures.
