Things continue to go a little better. Emma is more comfortable coming out of the cage, and I've been able to "herd" her in when it is time.

I've been spending time just watching her, talking to her, and sometimes trying to mirror her behavior (she scratches her head with her foot, I scratch my head with my hand; she closes her eyes, I close my eyes).

I'm really backing off on expecting behaviors from her in order for her to earn treats. Or, I'm way lowering my criteria for giving her a treat. The other birds may be getting treats for stepping onto my finger; she gets one just for not retreating from the general area where this is happening.

That's the right way to do it - you start from where the bird is right now and work your way up in baby steps. If you demand too much too soon you'll get nothing.

It seems like your on the right track! Keep it up.

This afternoon I was sitting watching TV. Silver was on my shoulder, and Snowy came over to visit, sitting on my computer monitor and then on my finger.

Out of the blue, Emma flew over and landed on the computer monitor. I was really shocked and gave her tons of praise. She stayed for quite a while. So, I held out my arm, she jumped on, then ran up to perch on my shoulder. She stayed there for quite a few minutes. I didn't even have any seeds nearby to give her, as they were near the other chair.

Sometimes they really surprise you.
