It's true that I am against clipping but everyone knows their own birds and their own limits. I would never think of someone as a bad bird owner because for a good reason they decide to clip.
You live with them every day and nobody else can really know as much as you do.

But in the case of a cagebound bird, this is my reasoning: if you clip him, you will be able to put him where you want and manage to keep him out of the cage for a longer time.
But how would that benefit him? he would remain a cagebound bird, he just would have to stay out because you move him. I don't think it would change his attitude in the long run.
I am sure you'll find a way, you're stubborn and resourceful :D

I met once a bird who refused to go out of his cage for 17 years... can you believe it, 17 bloody years??? In that case it was the first owner's fault though, he thought it was normal to keep a bird inside a cage all the time. At the end the poor little guy just didn't recognise "outside" as a place to be.
