Beaker and Jaid had a massive fight just now. It lasted 15 minutes and is still happening, but now they are calming down. They were out for an hour and then all of a sudden Beaker and Jaid were flying around insanely for 5 minutes. Beaker was chasing Jaid. Why was he doing this? Nothing happened to start it. I finally got one of them (Jaid) to step up. He was very distressed and bit hard. I put him in the cage and left Beaker out to keep them separated. They are still separated, but I am now kind of scared to put them back together. Will they hurt each other?

Maybe if you turn the lights down after your sure there are no serious injuries they'll quiet.

Were they fighting for millet again? Sometimes birds get spooked, it's natrual. Maybe they heard a bird? It's hard to say why they emerge fighting. Birds have their own reasons. Maybe one was being over protective about a toy or perch? I think Beaker might be hormonal. Try putting them on long nights for at least 2 weeks, try to rearrange the cage set up. Let's see how they behave with hormonal reduction. They might have lost energy but they will gain it back with some rest. If your feeling unsure you can give them some Gatorade for a piece of mind. I hope things will go OK with them. It's good you separated them. You can try to reintroduce them after when things cool down. I really think this happened from hormones.

Maybe. He might be hormonal. I just ordered 5 new rope perches and bought some new manzanita branches yesterday. I was going to rearrange the cage anyways, so good timing on my part. When the rope perches get here it will look totally different. Should I put B in my travel cage and sit it right next to Jaid in the big cage?

Yes. That would be great. Do you know who started the fight? Whichever bird is stronger and starts fights should go in the travel cage. Put the cages side by side and if you see they don't want to rip each other's faces off you can put them together. Maybe you can switch a perch or two before you put them together so the bird that was in the cage at first wont be territorial.

Yes, separate them while you're gone. I agree it's probably hormonal.

Beaker started it. He's older, bigger. He was just sitting and hopping on the flight cage with Jaid inside. I walked over to put them together and then when I got there B suddenly started it again, attacking Jaid through the bars. So I got B and put him in the spare and pushed them close together. They seem to have calmed down a bit.

Oh, I feel bad for you. Must have been very upsetting.

My two cats have been having confrontations over the last twenty four hours. One of them has been yowling at the other, but I am not sure which. They usually don't do that.

This afternoon I had a lot of trouble getting Emma into the cage.

Hope they end up getting along. I guess it's something like a sibling rivalry. I know your an only child but those here with siblings should know what I'm talking about.
