It's up to you to decide really. The birds would be more comfortable at home, but going to the store ought to prevent them from laying eggs. If there are other birds at the store then yes, there is a risk that they could share germs with each other. They'll all be breathing the same air after all.

I wonder how those of you who have many birds keep track of normality of their poop, who eats how much, and so on. I mean for each individual bird.

The second night in a row my birds absolutely don't want to go to sleep. They used to be very good about getting into the cage at night when Trillie decides it's time (he is usually the one who leads everyone into the cage, usually it happened soon after 8 .. 8.30 But now they are not manageable. Seems like the cage scares them. They nap a lot during the day but then at the evening they start acting crazy. I really hope they won't continue doing it.

Is there anything different about the cage or the area near it? Such as a reflection in the window glass that they didn't see in the past. I close the blinds when it's getting dark because the birds are spooked by the reflections at night.

Have you tried dimming lights and reducing noise near their bed time? I do that with my birds. Also, I save their favorite food for bedtime and put it in the bottom of their cage.

I hope it gets better.

I have to close them as soon as the sun hits my living room windows.
I don't think anything changes about the cage.
Yes, I dim lights.
