I'm getting pretty tired of Beaker being afraid of everything. Dresses, oranges, my hand in the cage, budgies... etc. For pete's sake, the bird runs away from millet. How can I make him braver? He won't do anything unless his safety blanket Jaid does it first.

There's probably not a way to make him braver, but when you've got something that's likely to make him run off you can show it to him gently from a distance and gradually bring it closer so he's not spooked into running away. Maybe if you can get him to stand his ground often enough it will turn into a habit.

my birds used to panic when I wore clothes with floral or plant patterns. Then they stopped. But now I've got a new skirt with large flowers so they are panicking again. I have to keep it by the front door and quietly put it on while nobody sees just before I leave LOL

My birds don't like it if I wear a shirt that buttons down the front. They prefer me in t-shirts lol.

Silver doesn't like me to wear glasses. The other 3 birds don't like me, period. They sort of tolerate me.

I wore another dress today. He seemed better this time. After he hissed and bit my face, he stopped running away from me. Let it be known, hissing and biting my face is just his hello. It doesn't hurt.

I have a bird who bites my forehead when he's on my head. That feels rather good and doesn't hurt too

My yellow bathrobe is a big problem here. Now I sort of introduce myself yelling from behind the door "guys, today mama is a big yellow bird, no panic" and open the door showing one sleeve. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't lol.
Stephanie, I have noticed that they develop something in a group that's assuming a role for the others. Even in sub-groups, in my case Keith, Rocky and Bubu, each one has a role. Keith for example decides what is safe for Rocky to do. Bubu is their chaperone and defender. If they want to be left alone from the others, rocky is the one pushing them away.
Isn't it possible that Jaid has assumed the role of "decider", a bit like my Keith?
