I tried using a perch shes used to but she was scared and she flew and ended up biting her tongue and she was bleeding she landed on the floor and she stepped up for me and I put her on her stand in the living room. She always steps up when on the floor or her stand. And I used crazyconures way of stepping up.So now what shes scared of perches but she steps up on my hand.Shes so cute I would love her to step up all the time then to letting me touch her.She was worn a harness and flightsuit when she was younger.

Is she still bleeding? Don't let her bleed too much. There's a certain powder you can get to stop bleeding, and my mom used to use it all the time when she used to trim bird toenails, or accidentally get a blood feather in clipping. Not sure how one would get the underside of the beak, though...

Don't try to clean up the blood. You don't want to accidentally restart the bleeding. In a few days if she has dried blood on her feathers you can give her a bath, but don't try to mess with the beak itself.

The beak has nerves in it as well as blood vessels so it probably feels sore right now. Hopefully she will feel well enough to start eating and drinking soon. Give her soft foods to eat if it seems hard for her to crack seeds and eat hard foods.

The powder that's made to stop the bleeding is called Kwik Stop. But you can also use flour or cornstarch if you don't have this on hand. But it's only needed for active bleeding. If the bleeding has stopped, then leaving it alone is the best thing you can do. Do NOT try to wash it with water, if the blood hasn't completely clotted yet this will restart the bleeding.

There's an article on our main website about this (I didn't write it): http://www.littlefeatheredbuddies.com/i ... staid.html

If you google for bird first aid kit you'll find more suggestions.
