How can I teach Rocko and Loki not to fly on top of the door or Tiko's cage or anywhere they aren't allowed.I know lots of people have done this.

I don't think birds understand the concept of boundaries and certain places being off limits.

I looked up the TC thread and the advice really was to basically reward them for going to a place where you don't want them to be. (The other part of the advice was to block them off from going there, which is what usually works best with parrots).

Positive reinforcement normally works by rewarding birds for doing something you want them to do and NOT rewarding undesired behavior. Your birds are going to learn that if they go to that place, they'll get attention from you in the form of a free ride, followed by a treat.

BTW I used to be a moderator on TC, and if you look in the sticky library you'll see lots of articles written by me. A few years ago they had several super knowledgeable moderators so the quality of the advice was usually pretty high. But most of those moderators also had a tendency to abuse the members, and I got fed up with it so I resigned as a moderator and then stopped participating completely several months after that. The remaining moderators turned on each other and now the only active moderator left from that time is Roxy. The quality of advice isn't what it used to be and I kinda cringed at some of the stuff I saw while I was looking around today.
