So I'm curious, if anyone lets their bird look out the window or something, when wild birds are near, and if so, how do they react. I know some of you have harnesses and flightsuits, and take your birds with you to places. Do they react to any birds they see while outside?

Lucy seems fascinated, when there's one in the distance, or if she sees one fly off (then again, she's fascinated at every creature she sees flying). It seems she also knows when whatever sound she hears, is another bird. I let her near the window, and while it wasn't open, even I could hear the sound of a bird calling (the windows aren't exactly soundproof), and she was getting excited, pacing back and forth.

Dudley, on the other hand, is downright afraid of the outdoors altogether, so I'm pretty sure he doesn't think much of the birds (unless if that's what scares him).

If Rocko and Loki hear the birds outside they chirp and they have a stand at the window. When outside mostly when me and Rocko are going for a cycle he chirps to the birds and flys off sometimes.Mostly he sits on my shoulder and chirps to them.

My budgies, Poppy, especially, will chirp at the birds outside. My cockatiels don't care, but if a hawk gets too close to the house, maybe sitting on a telephone wire or on a tree outside and they can see it, they go into a fright.

My guys don't pay much attention to wild birds unless it's a hawk. They freak out for hawks! My flock is big enough that they're probably not on the lookout for potential new flockmates, which might be an issue for people with fewer birds.

My birds don't bother much, except Obi ,he goes mad if they are too near the windows... or the red kites flying over... another reason not too take him outside!

Hehe, I WISH the birds would come closer to the window. They do when I don't have Lucy with me, and they don't seem to mind that I'm there, but once I get Lucy out, it's like they automatically know. I've even thrown some seed out there, and they hung out in the yard, everywhere BUT where I put the seeds.

I would imagine that the kites would scare the heck out of him. With their size, I bet they would look like a flying predator. Lucy seems to have interest in whatever's flying, though since we don't have many kite flyers (it doesn't get too windy, very often), I'm not sure how she would react. Probably not much different from Obi.

hawk scared my birds really bad. Other than this, they like wild small birds. My tiels spend time on my front perch that I transform into aviary by installing wooden frame into open space. Right now they are out.

When i had my birds outside, they would get SOO excited. Especially Coco; I let him out on the floor when his wings were clipped, and he saw wild birds flying and so he tried to fly too! He jumped a little and flapped his wings to acheive flight, but it was ueseless. That's when I realized something: birds are unfaithful!

We don't get a lot of eagles visiting, but we do get owls, or I'm not sure if they're called barn owls (google translate doesn't make a great job at grammar).

Anyways, they get really excited, but now I know it's not safe letting your pet birds get in contact with wild birds.

Well if they look like the, then they're most likely barn owls.

i haven't seen any Eagles either, but I have seen a lot of Hawks. One persistent one keeps coming, because he wants to get a snack from our pond. I've seen a vulture fly around the neighborhood too, once. Never seen owls either, though a friend of mine apparently saw one in his yard.

Oh, than it's just a regular looking owl.

Also, I meant to write 'hawks', but I fell in the moment and wrote 'eagles'.

!!!
