Emma has been with me almost two years now. She's always been a "hands-off" bird.
She and Silver have been enjoying flying around the living area in tandem. This has developed very gradually, and by now is quite the thing!
Well, Silver often flies to my shoulder. Today, for the first time ever, Emma came along with him (twice) and sat on my shoulder with him for a bit. I was really surprised. It's not like I was offering a treat. It's just that Silver went there, and she overcame her hesitancy and came over too.
You just never know!

many of my birds would land on me because somebody else did, but would never allow me to touch them. At times, I can have up to 6 birds sitting on different parts of me while only 2 out of 10 birds step up for me. Today Bella was sitting on my hand and I was giving her head scritches with another hand, so my arms were bent, and Yellowback landed on my second arm, and he was singing a song, very close to my ear (and very loud) LOL and I could feel vibrations of his throat as he sang. It was interesting

Yay! Let us know if she keeps it up.
Lucy's yet to actually fly to me. I think she's too used to me having her step up and carry her everywhere. she's so spoiled.

Today Emma landed on my knee, then sat there cleaning her feathers. She also flew to my shoulder a couple of times.
It's so interesting, after all this time of just accepting her limitations and treating her with respect, she's decided to take a little bit of a chance and get closer to me.
Early this afternoon it seemed every time I looked at the birds they were someplace they were not supposed to be and destroying something I didn't want destroyed. It was frustrating.
Then, after their mid afternoon rest, this nice thing (first paragraph above) happened, and it seemed they were sweet and happy.
