 Lucy's known to try doing that. I never actually let her steal any. The missing S key on my old laptop was really me trying to get some wedged millet out. It was an older laptop and required a couple of pieces underneath to attach the key, and I ended up breaking it in the process.

She will walk on them though, and if she puts just enough weight on a certain key, she'll mess stuff up all the time. It's especially easier with my newer laptop since the keys are somehow easier to press. I guess she loves helping me.

"Don't be surprised if they rediscover the joy of key-stealing lol. Putting a clear plastic cover over the keys is one solution if they start causing problems again."

I got one of those silicone keyboard covers. However, Silver would peel it back from the corner to get at the keys. Clever boy.

Look at it as a challenge to see if you can outsmart a cockatiel lol. We have the bigger brain but sometimes the birds win anyway.

Yes, that's the right approach. So far, they haven't been bothering the keyboard. I got a new computer, which is a desktop rather than a laptop. They may not have figured out that the new keyboard can be used for key removal. It looks a bit different. I will think of something when he figures it out.
