So if anyone remembers Lucy being lost, you may remember how her voice became somewhat hoarse when she got back. Though her normal chirps sound fine, her flock calling never did go back to how it was.

Today, she just proved that she could perfectly mimic Alex's flock call, which tends to be pretty high pitch even for a cockatiel.

So it seems that Lucy's voice never did get haorse, but more like she changed her flock call on purpose.

Anyone have any ideas why this is? I find it weird that her flock call has changed, even if there is no real reason for it. I mean, it could be possible that her voice was was hoarse at first, and she's just gotten used to that tone. I just find it weird that she's capable of making a normal cockatiel flock call sound, and chooses not to.

Maybe she listened to a lot of ravens while she was on the loose? Probably not, but that's the best explanation I can think of.

You would be surprised. I did see ravens on this part of Arizona, once. It was back in my freshman year of highschool, when I was waiting for the gate to open. They were sitting on top of the lamp posts in the parking lot. Was very unusual to see them. If only I had my camera, because they looked really cool with the cloudy sky in the background. :)

Still it may be unlikely. Though whenever I'd listen for her, I would hear this one bird that made a similar call. I don't know if it was the natural call of that bird, or a trolling mockingbird that picked up the call. It made it very annoying.

There are lots of ravens in the Tucson area. They prefer the desert over the city, so the number of them that you see will vary depending on where you are. I see a lot of them in the sky.
