--- PART II ---
Sorry about the parts but I can't embed more than three photos per post.

Anyway, they were all a bit wary at the beginning.
Then Angelina, who is the bravest little bird ever (and the most playful of the flock), went for it

And after a while Frank followed

In a few minutes, most of them were on it!
Sesamo wasn't really sure what all the fuss was about

--- PART III ---

The bird room still looks miserable, but at least it's a start!

It wasn't easy that night putting them to bed, because all those moving twigs create a lot of weird shadows, so all the birds were quite spooked when I dimmed the lights.
But then the following night they seemed to be ok with them and now they don't freak out anymore at all.

I shoot two videos that day, but be warned they last 5 and 2 long minutes and probably I am the only one who finds them entertaining

I still have a few branches but I think I will keep them as a replacement for when these two will be destroyed.

Believe it or not, that day, after I left them to it, I couldn't hear a peep... I was a bit worried so went to have a look, and they were all munching on the branches in religious silence. I take it as a sign of appreciation :D

I found it at a car boot sale (our equivalent of the american Yard Sale, more or less), paid about 50p (less than 1$) for it from a lady who was getting rid of all the stuff her toddler wasn't using anymore... I recommend it! They spend a lot of time trying to reach the bears, and if you are like me, enjoying looking at them being daft, you will love it!
One of them, not sure who, has learned to untie knots so often I find a bear on the floor

I gave Beaker a toddler toy I bought from a toy store. It's a plastic ball with circular mirrors on it. So it is a rolling mirror. He LOVES it. Heartwings, singing, licking, making out... he loves it so much. It was only $4 and I highly recommend one if you can find it.

Can you post a picture in the toys section please? I would like to try find something like you describe but I am mot sure I understand how it looks.

Toddler toys are such a good inexpensive font.

Cat toys can be a good toy for small birds. Like these:
