this is so cute! it is pointless in normal situations, maybe, but if you have a bird (like my Keith) who refuses to eat if you are not next to him, or if you are in the process of taming, that can be a godsend!
I think I will give it a try, maybe Sesamo will fall for it and get closer to me.

I probably won't make one. When I want to feed birds on my shoulder I just hold the food up to them. Several of them are well motivated to sit on my shoulder even without food so I don't need to entice them.

It's a cute idea, but I don't need it. Jaid is the only one who likes being on shoulders and would much rather play Operation than eat.

My flock is divided in two very definite factions, one is the human friendly and the others are happy to be around me but not to be touched or fed.
Some of them are full adults and I wouldn't want to even try to change their attitude, but the two youngsters, Angelina and Sesamo, well maybe I can still do something about it.
That's one of the reasons why staying away from the bird room during the day right now was driving me mad.
If having those two girls accept me as friend means I have to carry around a feeder, well, I'll do it lol

If they see Bubu eating treats on your shoulder they'll learn that good things can happen on shoulders. It might take a long time for them to be bold enough to do it themselves, but it's a start and you can gradually work toward the goal.

You know, when I first got Angie I was working hard during her quarantine, and we were doing really well.
Then George died and it was such a shock I couldn't trust myself around them all for quite a while, so the training stopped. I am ashamed thinking how much I neglected them socially at that time.
But still these days she hasn't forgot the little she learned, and lets me pick her up in the morning from the cage and hops on the stick like a pro when it's bed time. She is such a sweet baby, I am sure that once I am again in the bird room she will come around.
Sesamo is a different story, I bought her from a pet shop because she was being plucked (she still is a bit weird on the crest and the neck) and one of her feet was mangled. Just couldn't leave her there but I knew it was a bad moment to get another bird. Never spent time and effort with her and she is wary of me. But she also seems interested in me so the body-feeding apparatus might work.
And it's true, I didn't think about it, they will probably pick up from Bubu and Keith who are always glued to me.
