I went to the aviary to change my birds food bowl, after I place it back in the cage you wouldn't guess what I found...

A CAGE!!!!! I am SOO happy! I have always wanted to get a bigger cage than my tiny ones.
The cage was VERY dirty, there was dirt on the bottom with some garbage and snail shells.
There was perch with chew marks and one SUPER DIRTY food bowl. There was grime in it...it was really nasty.

You can see my old cage that I don't use next to it.

This may seem like a stupid question but here it goes.

How do you prevent cage rusting? The new cage has no rust and I would like to keep it that way.

If it gets wet make sure you wipe it dry....
There was a make of oil which could be put
on the bars... to prevent rusting... but I'm not
sure if its still on the market...

Ive never had trouble with rust on my cages...

That makes a lot of sense! I like to clean the cages at least once a week, and I never thought about wiping it dry.

Most new cages are either made of non-rusting metals or are powder coated to prevent rust. If the new cage is rusty, you can scour the rust off and then paint the cage to help keep it rust free. The cage isn't rusty at all. I just don't want it to get rusty in the future.
