I have ropes like you have in my budgie cage. They seem to really enjoy them. I love the way they are resilient as they run back and forth or jump from one to the other. I'm thinking they might be nice for the tiels also.

I'm a llittle bit concerned about the size of the gap across the top of the cage. I have seen videos of budgies squeezing between bars and out of the cage. I was shocked to see it. A significant amount of the size of a bird is feathers. I know your birds are not budgies (and they are gorgeous, by the way), and I don't kow how large an opening tiels can squeeze through.

Especially since you are going to be away, I would close up that top bit with something. I hope you don't mind the suggestion.

Good point Dianne. I hadn't noticed that, and it does look big enough for them to stick their head through. I don't think they could get the rest of the body through but why take the risk.

I believe that is where the divider goes. Cages with slide-in dividers usually have a gap in the middle like that, for obvious reasons.

Nonetheless, it does look big enough for a cockatiel to get it's head stuck.

Thank you! I hadn't noticed that. The hole is there because I upgraded the cage a long time ago so I could make a big door and take them out easier, clean, put things in and out and other suff. But I will cover it up, thank you for the suggestion :)
