Before I leave, I wanted to leave my birds something more exciting so they wouldn't get bored without me for a month. So I bought ropes, got rid of the old chameleon perch and made a different cage setup. I hope they like it more and won't get as bored. Watch:

Maybe add more toys,Shredding toys and you could also make foraging toys with toilet paper rolls.I used to make the foraging toys when I had hamsters but the same idea can be used for birds.

Oh yeah... I know what you mean. I'll try that. But what can I stuff them with?

Do you have a reliable person to take care of them while you're gone? If you can identify some bird-safe trees or plants, you can ask the caregiver to give them some periodically while you're gone. Cockatiels love to tear up plants and strip the leaves off of branches. You can make perches out of natural branches too.

You can stuff toilet paper rolls with shredded paper and pieces of millet spray. It would make a mess, but they would have fun.

Those ropes look somewhat flimsy though. I would be concerned about them coming undone. If you want sturdier ropes, you can get some rope perches. They're moldable, and stay in place, and would probably be better than just regular ropes.

It would also probably be best to have a at least a couple wood perches. Sometimes, birds can get their toenails caught in ropes, so you really wouldn't want them to be the main types of perches. The best kinds are the kinds that aren't completely straight nor even. They simulate tree branches and are very good on the bird's feet. Having a few different widths is also important, as their feet tend to cramp up when sitting on the same-sized perches all the time.

At the same time, you don't want to crowd their cage too much, as cockatiels like to stretch and flap their wings.
Other than that, all I can say is, as Carolyn said, make sure you have a reliable person to take care of them while you're gone, to make sure they have fresh food and clean water.

I giggled at Coco at the end, and how he tried to eat the camera. Lucy does the same exact thing. I usually have to take pictures while she's distracted, or else I'll end up with more pictures like this:

This one was actually taken intentionally, which is why it is pretty clear. Otherwise, they end up really blurry.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm going to get a lot of accessories this time around because the pet store I used to buy food and toys and stuff is starting to close, they barely have anything for birds, and it's like the only bird store I know in this place. The reason why I changed the perches to rope, was because the perch I currently had was like sandpaper, but worse, it was very gritty and irritated their feet. But I will look into all these perches.

There is no one I know that will take care of them 100%%%, but the person I'm leaving them with says they won't put them outside because there are a lot of cats there. Every body else I know, says they will keep them outside with their cats or dogs because that's the only place they can keep them in. I know I shouldn't be leaving them alone, and it hurts, but it's a wedding I have to attend. I hope everything will be okay.
