What do you think I should buy in the US? Like, what are some good toys, durable perches, and a big cage? Carloyn told me nutrieberries are a good thing, so I'll buy that. So? Any suggestions?

Well, if you're still needing food, I would suggest pellets, and seeds to keep around for when you run out of pellets.

Toys are good too. Cockatiels are very easily entertained, so just about anything will do good.

Also, millet sprays. Don't get any that are scented, or in unnatural colors. Those are dangerous. Just get plain millet spray.

A mineral block or cuttlebone will be good too, if you don't already have one. Since turtles use cuttlebones as well, you could possibly find them in the reptile section, if not the bird section (though it's practically a given in the bird section for any pet store, here). Along with a good cuttlebone holder, so it doesn't fall to the bottom of the cage and get pooped on (my tiels do that all the time).

but ordering online is so much cheaper. I hate to think how much you would overpay buying stuff in pet stores (in my opinion)

Nice job Jasmine! I would recommend rope perches. They are easy on the feet with the different textures.

I just have to say: be careful getting anything with rings. This morning, something happened with Alex and a ring toy that almost got him a broken wing. He's ok now, and I'll explain in a separate thread.

c'on. That plastic ring toy was definitely not intended for a bird of cockatiel size. I have some toys with rings that are intended for cockatiels and everybody is fine and loves them.
I hope Alex feels better.

Yeah, I thought they were ok, but apparently not...

There are some days where I feel like I just fail at bird owning.

On the bright side, Alex seems to be feeling better. Still his normal, clingy self.
