I'm so excited because it's a tall cage, and I can fit all of my 4 birds in there. I apologize in advance for the mess. My uncles daughter got married and we used the garage to store about EVERYTHING. Though most of it is junk. Anyways, this is it:

You will need to quarantine your new budgie and make sure they all get along.A cage that is wide is better than a tall one but it seems ok.

That cage looks pretty wide to me! I'm sure your birds will enjoy it.

Thank you! How much longer should Satchimo be in quarantine? Isn't this long enough? I haven't seen him I'll.

That usually applies more to non parrots that are unable to climb and rely more on their wings. Parrots are ok in tall cages, as they can climb on the bars. Personally, I would like for the depth to be a bit bigger, but it still seems to be a decent size.

I dont think so Jessi it is recommend wider than tall so they have more space to climb around and play.

Can you please show me where you read this?

And are you sure you're not confusing width with depth? Because it actually looks pretty wide to me.
Here's a measuring reverence that shows the difference between the width and depth in a 3D opject: Image

Wider than tall is usually recommended for parrots too, but they're really telling you to stay away from cages that are tall and narrow. This cage is tall but it's also wide so it's OK. A lot of the bigger cages are both tall and wide. I'd like a bit more depth too, but this is reasonable enough and it's an improvement over the old cage.

30 days is the recommended minimum quarantine time, but realistically you've probably observed him long enough to have a pretty good idea of his health status. Once you get him home it would be desirable to keep him separate for at least a few more days, since this will be a big change for him and the stress could bring out problems that you haven't seen yet.

Well hopefully the budgie will get along with the tiels. They tend to be hyperactive busy-butts, and have a reputation of annoying cockatiels. If it comes to that though, he has the smaller cage. Would just have to get rid of the gap in the middle.

A piece of hardware cloth or a narrow piece of wood tied across the gap would get rid of it.
